About the owners My husband Michael is originally from Montana, but planted roots in the South after he retired from the military. Fran grew up in the South and spent many vacations at Panama City Beach- back when it was still considered “old Florida”. Wanting something less commercialized and dog friendly, we vacationed at Cape San Blas and it was love at first beach walk! It’s easy to fall in love with the Forgotten Coast. There’s lots to explore and do...or simply relax and do nothing! The Cape is reminiscent of my childhood beach vacations- quiet, uncrowded and unspoiled beaches. An added bonus is that the beaches are pet friendly! We are pet parents of two sister Doodles – Curly Sue and Darcy Doo. They love vacationing at Sunnyside Up and Cape San Blas as much as we do! We rented at the Cape for many years before building Sunnyside Up. We have tried to incorporate what we’ve learned as renters and have put a lot of thought and love into the house design, furnishings and amenities.
